Founded by Swiss entrepreneur Julius Maggi, the Maggi® brand has been the master of flavours, herbs and spices for over 120 years.
The original company was born in 1872 in Switzerland, when Julius Maggi took over his father's mill. Maggi quickly became a pioneer of industrial food production, aiming at improving the nutritional intake of worker families. We were the first to bring protein-rich and vegetable based meals to the market, followed by ready-made soup in 1886 which was based on the popular vegetable meals.
In the UK today, Maggi's diverse, culinary expertise means the Maggi® brand has become synonymous with quality amongst leading British and International chefs.
